Nurturing the next generation of health professionals
As a provisional psychologist or early career therapist, you might feel overwhelmed by how much there is to learn, and the constant pressure to "get it right." Imposter syndrome and self-doubt can make it hard to feel confident, and balancing the demands of therapy with your personal life can feel exhausting.
If you are managing the daunting transition from university to real-world practice, or establishing yourself as a newly qualified therapist, you've come to the right place. I can help you move from feeling unsure to becoming a grounded and effective therapist.
Let me introduce myself...
I'm Claire Trevitt and I help provisional psychologists and early career therapists build confidence, navigate the internship, and feel more connected to their clients and themselves.
Through on-demand training, practical resources, and step-by-step guidance, I break down the overwhelming aspects of supervision and the competencies required to be a good therapist.
I simplify the process so you can spend your energy where it matters most - growing your skills, strengthening therapeutic relationships, and becoming the therapist you aspire to be.
My journey...
I’ve been there!! I have felt the overwhelm, the long hours, and the pressure of trying to meet every requirement while still trying to figure out what to do and how to do it.
When I started my 4+2 internship, I was overworked, lacking in confidence, and often unsure of where to turn for help. While I had a supportive supervisor, there were many times I had to work things out on my own. I remember taking assessments home and trying to figure out how to use them with little guidance. Everyone at work was too busy to teach me, so I was often left to navigate things by myself.
I don’t want others to go through that. I understand the feeling of having to break down complex guidelines on your own and the stress of making sure you’re meeting all the requirements. That’s why I became a supervisor, so I can share everything I’ve learned to help you get to where you need to be with more confidence and less stress. I’ve created resources and step-by-step guides so you don’t have to figure it all out by yourself.
I know how valuable your supervision time is, and I want you to be able to use it for what matters most - case consultation, skill development, and meeting competencies. Instead of spending time figuring out the "what to do" on your own, I’ve broken down some of the more complex tasks (such as writing case reports, meeting assessment competencies and NPE preparation) and provided practical tools so you can spend your time focusing on growth and not the logistics.
My goal is to help you feel more confident, supported, and equipped to take on the challenges of being a new therapist. I’m here to make your journey smoother so you can spend less time worrying about what to do and more time growing into the therapist you want to be.
