WAIS-IV Training

This online training is primarily designed for provisional psychologists looking to meet competency in an adult cognitive assessment. It is also suitable for registered psychologists and supervisors wanting to upgrade their skills and knowledge in cognitive assessment.

You will get access to the trainining immediately upon enrolment.

This on-demand training focuses on the WAIS-IV and covers the following:

  • Overview and purpose of the test
  • A demonstration of administration of the 10 core subtests (ipad version)
  • Guidelines for simulated assessments (for meeting competency)
  • Brief overview of scoring, interpretation and report-writing
  • Report template and sample assessment data provided

In case you have questions...

How long will I have access to the recording and training materials?

You'll have access to the recording, notes and templates for 3 months after the training

Can I tick off the WAIS-IV competency requirements after this training?

This training will provide the information you need to begin working on the tasks required to fulfil competency for a cognitive assessment.

Attendance at the training will not in itself meet the internship competency requirements, which need to be assessed and signed off by the principal or secondary supervisor.

The group provides a demonstration of test administration and guidelines in completing an assessment with real or simulated clients. Participants are then encouraged to access the test materials to practice and gain competence in the administration and scoring of the WAIS-IV.

As per AHPRA guidelines: Each test must be administered, scored and interpreted as many times as necessary to achieve competence. Each test must then be competently demonstrated at least twice to a supervisor during direct observation of practice with real clients, or (where appropriate) in realistic simulated learning environments.
